- Launch Outlook 2003.
- If Outlook has not been previously used, you may first see a few dialog boxes before the Outlook 2003 Startup window appears. If Outlook has been previously used, go to step 5.
- Click the Next button. The E-mail Accounts screen will appear.
- Ensure that the Yes radio button is selected. Go to step 8.
- Go to Tools > E-mail Accounts... The E-mail Accounts screen will appear.
- Ensure that the Add a new e-mail account radio button is selected.
- Click the Next button.
- The next screen is Server Type. Ensure that the POP3 radio button is selected and click the Next button. The Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) screen will appear.
- In the Your Name: field, enter your name as you wish it appear on outgoing messages (i.e., James Smith).
- In the E-mail Address: field, enter your full email address, e.g. [email protected]
- In the User Name: field, enter your full email address again, as entered in step 10, e.g. [email protected]
- In the Password: field, enter your email password (case sensitive).
- In the Incoming mail server (POP3): field, enter your mail server name mail.mydomainname.com
- In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): field, enter your mail server name mail.mydomainname.com IMPORTANT: If you are using an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that does not permit you to use your own outgoing mail server, check with them to determine your outgoing mail server settings. SDS International's support staff cannot provide you dewith this information.
- Click the More Settings ... button. The next screen is Internet E-mail Settings.
- Click the Outgoing Server tab.
- Enable the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication checkbox. If you want to change anything else on the Outgoing Server tab, make the changes now.
- Click the OK button. You will be returned to the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) screen.
- Click the Next button. The next screen is Congratulations!
- Click the Finish button. If this is not the first account you have created in Outlook 2003, you will also have to click the Close button.
- A User Name dialog may display. If it does, type in your name and initials and click the OK button.
- Outlook 2003 will begin to download and refresh your POP email.
